Vendor Earnings Policy
How you Earn:
Published Videos and Live Streams
For every Purchase of one of your Videos or live streams by a Recast User (this excludes Replays and any Views during an Access Pass Period by a Recast User that has purchased an Access Pass), we will receive Cast Credits from the Recast User according to the Price. To calculate the cash amount due to you for that Purchase (which will be credited to your Wallet’s Earnings Total) we will deduct from the Price as follows:
1. if the purchase was generated due to a Recast User using “Share & Earn”, we deduct Cast Credits based on the amount that you agreed to ‘share’ based on the Share Ratio that you set for the Video at the time of the Purchase (unless a Channel Pass was used to access the Video, in which case no deduction will be made. See Access Pass section below).
The remaining Cast Credits will be converted into a cash sum (in pounds sterling) on the basis of 1 Cast Credit being equal to £0.01.
We then deduct from that cash sum:
2. any applicable taxes (including VAT or other sales taxes) at the prevailing rate in the territory where the Video was Purchased, any other surcharges which we pay in connection with the Purchase or View, and our “Fee”, as described in our Schedule of Tariffs (which may be varied from time to time). This establishes the “Net Earnings”.
From the Net Earnings, we then deduct:
3. if the View was generated due to another Vendor using Share and Earn , the amount you agreed to ‘share’ based on the Share Ratio that you set for the Video at the time of the Purchase (unless an Access Pass was used to access the video, in which case no deduction will be made). This will establish your “Earnings”.
Finally:
4. if you tagged other Vendors using the “Tag & Split” function, we then deduct from your Earnings their split of the Earnings based on the percentage you allocated to them for that Video at the time of the Purchase (unless an Access Pass was used to access the video, in which case no deduction will be made).
The remaining amount after the deductions set out above will be the amount due to you for that purchase. This will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet.
All calculations are based on working to 3 decimal places for Cast Credits and 6 decimal places for Pounds Sterling (or as may otherwise be required by tax authorities etc).
Access Passes (sometimes referred to as Channel Passes)
For every Access Pass that you issue to a Recast User, we will receive Cast Credits from the Recast User according to the relevant Price of the Pass at the time of Purchase. To calculate the cash amount due to you for the issuance of that Access Pass (which will be credited to your Wallet’s Earnings Total), the Cast Credits received will be converted into a cash sum (in pounds sterling) on the basis of 1 Cast Credit being equal to £0.01. We then deduct from that cash sum:
- any applicable taxes (including VAT or other sales taxes) at the prevailing rate in the territory where the Access Pass was purchased by the Recast User;
- any other surcharges which we pay in connection with the provision of the Access Pass; and
- our Fee, as described in our Schedule of Tariffs (which may be varied from time to time).
All calculations are based on working to 3 decimal places for Cast Credits and 6 decimal places for Pounds Sterling (or as may otherwise be required by tax authorities etc).
If you share another Vendor's Video using the Share & Earn function (either outside the platform using the generated Share & Earn link or via a Recast iFrame Widget embedded on your Vendor Environment), and this generates a Purchase of that Video, a percentage of the Vendor's Net Earnings for the Video based on the Share Ratio set by the Vendor at the time of the Purchase will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet (unless an Access Pass was used to access the Video, in which case no credit will be made). You acknowledge that by sharing Videos you are helping to grow the Platform and increase Purchases and Views of Videos. As such you are providing Recast with a service and when you cash out VAT will be added, if applicable, to your Share & Earn earnings.
Tag & Split
If a Recast User Purchases a Video published by another Vendor and, at the time of the Purchase, you have been tagged by the Vendor using Tag & Split, you will earn your split of the Vendor's Earnings based on the percentage they allocated to you for that Video at the time of the Purchase (unless an Access Pass was used to access the Video, in which case Tag & Split will not apply). Your split of their Earnings will be credited to your Earnings Total in your Wallet. You acknowledge that by having contributed to the Videos you are tagged in, you are enhancing the content available on the Platform and helping to grow the Platform. As such you are providing Recast with a service and when you cash out VAT will be added, if applicable, to your Tag & Spilt earnings.
Currency exchange
All our calculations of your Earnings are made in Pounds Sterling and unless otherwise agreed with you we will make payment to you in Pounds Sterling.
Schedule of Tariffs
Published Videos and Channel Pass Purchases:
The table below indicates our Fee per Video Purchase. Fees per Video Purchase are calculated as a percentage of the Price of the Video or Access Pass after the deduction of VAT/Sales tax, other surcharges, and any Cast Credits due to Recast Users through Share & Earn). VAT/Sales tax is determined by the applicable tax legislation in the jurisdiction in which the Recast User is located.
Worked examples:
For simplicity, we have rounded the numbers in the worked examples to two decimal places whereas, in practice, the calculations will be made to three decimal places for Cast Credits and six decimal places for Pounds Sterling. VAT and sales taxes may go up or down and are indicated at the current rates at the date of publication of this Earnings Policy.
1. A Recast User Purchases your on-demand Video anywhere on the Recast Platform or your Vendor Environment using the Recast Wallet. The Recast User redeems Cast Credits to do this (i.e. they don’t use an Access Pass). The Price of the Video is 120 Cast Credits, and a Sharing Ratio has been set by you at 20%. The Video is Viewed directly (i.e. not via a Share & Earn link), so no Share & Earn deduction is made. You have not used Tag & Split on the Video.
* In this scenario, this is the amount that will be credited to your Wallet.
** California currently does not impose sales tax on digital goods. Sales tax is determined on a state by state basis in the USA.
2. A Recast User Purchases your live stream video anywhere on the Recast Platform or your Vendor Environment using the Recast Wallet. The Recast User redeems Cast Credits to do this (i.e. they don’t use an Access Pass). The Price of the Video is 120 Cast Credits, and a Sharing Ratio has been set by you at 20%. The Purchase results from a “share” by another Vendor, so a Share & Earn deduction is made. You have not used Tag & Split on the Video.

3. A Recast User Purchases your on-demand Video anywhere on the Recast Platform or on your Vendor Environment using the Recast Wallet. The Recast User redeems Cast Credits to do this (i.e. they don’t use an Access Pass). The Price of the Video is 120 Cast Credits, and a Sharing Ratio has been set by you at 50%. The View results from a “share” by a Recast User, so a Share & Earn deduction is made. You have used Tag & Split on the Video, allocating 10% of your Earnings to Vendor A and 10% of your Earnings to Vendor B.

** Recast User receives 42 Cast Credits after Recast deducts its 30% fee, equivalent to 18 Cast Credits.
Access Passes (Channel Passes):
Our Fee for each Access Pass Purchased by a Recast User is 30%. Fees per Access Pass are calculated as a percentage of the Price of the Access Pass after the deduction of VAT/Sales tax and any other surcharges.
